Monogrammed yoga mat – do we love it?

Here is something I KNOW I love: Hot Yoga Nashville. That’s right – I said hot yoga. And yes, it is exactly what it sounds like. It is yoga practiced in a room heated to more than 100 degrees. And if you had told me this time last year that I would be practicing hot yoga, I imagine the conversation would have gone something like this:

You – “This time next year you will voluntarily be spending several hours per week twisting your body into unnatural shapes while sweating profusely in a room with thirty to forty other people and you will love it.”

Me – “You sir, are a liar.”

But thanks to a little encouragement from a friend and a lot of amazing affects on both the way I feel and, most importantly, the way my clothes fit, I’ve been practicing consistently since January. So I’m always on the lookout for fun new yoga clothes and accessories and I recently stumbled across this – My Custom Yoga Mat.

SO many fun options! (I may or may not have spent the equivalent of .6 billable hours today playing around with my design.) But let’s talk pros and cons:

Pro – It’s adorable.

Con – At $40 it’s a little pricey for something I’m going to drip on.

Pro – But I would use it everyday so it’s cost per use would be teeny.

Con – I would almost certainly spend many more billable hours deciding on a design.

Pro – But putting my name on a yoga mat would surely result in more “good job Shea”sĀ  from the instructors which are my very fave part of class.

I think I’m sold. This mat is so cute it would almost be a shame to cover it up with a yoga towel. But then again, given how much I sweat during class it would also be a shame not to. šŸ™‚

Splendid Different Degrees Maxi dress – do we love it?

First off, I should say that I love Anthropologie. Seriously. Love. It. Like the sales associates know me by name and fight to be the one to get my commissions love it.

But every once in a while Anthropologie tries to force a trend or style on me and the rest of America that I’m just not sure about. This fall it looks like it’s going to be the long-sleeved maxi dress as evidenced here, here, and against all that is tasteful and good in this world, here. (Seriously – My eyes. They burn.)

Now I love the look of a cute, summery maxi dress on the right girl in the summertime. But no matter how hard I try, that girl, unfortunately, is not me. This maxi dress, however, caught my eye in the latest Anthropologie catalog:

This looks fantastic and comfy – two things I love in a dress. But does it look fantastic because it’s on this model who is obviously A) beautiful, B) skinny and C) a giant? Or can we mere mortals wear this, too? After checking it out here, I’m not so sure.

So the Splendid Different Degrees Maxi dress – do we love it? Help me decide.

Michael Kors Benton pump – do we love it?

I have a confession to make. I HATE wearing suits. And yes, it would have been nice to figure that out before I chose a career that generally requires me to wear one at least once a week. But more than hating suits, I really hate the sensible, boring, black shoes female lawyers feel like they have to wear with their suits. So I am always on the lookout for fashionable, yet appropriate, pumps to wear with my suits. This morning I found these:

SO fab, right? (You can get them here) And my fave part is that nothing about these shoes could ever be described as sensible.Ā  So the Michael Kors Benton pump – do we love it? I do. How about you?
